Introduction: This article covers the new user permission setting in Profitz designed to protect critical system codes from accidental modification. This setting ensures the integrity of your financial and operational data.
What codes are affected by this setting?
This restriction applies to all primary codes used throughout Profitz. This includes, but is not limited to:
- General Ledger (GL) Account Codes
- Debtor Account Codes
- Creditor Account Codes
- Job Codes
How do I enable the ability to edit codes?
By default, code editing is disabled for all user accounts to prevent unauthorized changes.
If a specific user requires the ability to modify these codes, the permission must be enabled manually. Please contact Profitz Support to request this update for specific user accounts.
Why are code editing disabled by default?
This safeguard was introduced to prevent accidental edits to critical system identifiers. Locking these codes by default helps ensure data consistency across your General Ledger and Job Costing modules.
