Description: Use the Classic GL Bank Reconciliation screen to manually match transactions in the Profitz General Ledger with your bank statement. This method allows you to reconcile deposits, withdrawals, and journals without using Excel import or auto‑matching tools.
Step‑by‑step instructions
Before starting, ensure you have already created a Reconciliation Run for the period you are reconciling.
1. Select Your Reconciliation Run
Locate the reconciliation run you created earlier.
- Enter the Reference for the run.
- Click Get Result to load the reconciliation.
2. Match Transactions
Match the bank statement transactions with the GL transactions displayed.
- Click Get Results to display all transactions for the selected run.
- Tick or untick transactions until the Unreconciled Amount reaches 0.
Key fields:
- Date: Only transactions up to the reconciliation date are shown.
- Unreconciled Amount: Must be 0 before you can complete the reconciliation.
- Total Credit: Total value of selected credit transactions.
- Total Debit: Total value of selected debit transactions.
- Tick All: Select all transactions.
- Untick All: Deselect all transactions.
3. Complete the Reconciliation
Once the Unreconciled Amount is 0, the Reconciled button becomes available.
Click Reconciled to proceed.
4. Confirm the Reconciliation
A confirmation message appears prompting you to verify the details.
5. Finalize the Reconciliation
If the details are correct:
- Click Yes to finalize the reconciliation.
6. Completion Message
A message confirms that the reconciliation is complete.
FAQ
What if the Unreconciled Amount won’t reach zero?
Check for missing, duplicated, or incorrectly dated transactions. You may need to adjust entries or create missing transactions before reconciling.
